This is a dendritic cell in your body. This type of immune cell contains beautiful branches like a neuron. Dentritic cells are discovered by Canadian scientist Ralph M. Steinman who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2011. Scientists have used its functional characteristics to develop dendritic cell cancer vaccines to treat B-cell lymphoma, melanoma, prostate cancer and other malignancies.
